An insurance head has been appointed for the American island territory by QBE Re, which is reporting an increase in demand from international clients for Bermuda's's niche and property reinsurance.

Andy Richardson ( pictured ), who is subject to immigration from Bermuda, will start working for the reinsurer in June. His work history includes stints as profile manager at Aeolus Capital Management, Guy Carpenter, and Lancashire Insurance.

According to managing manager Chris Killourhy of QBE Re, we are happy that we were able to bring something of Andy's's caliber to QBe while demonstrating our dedication to the Bermuda market.

Andy's's extensive knowledge of the Bermuda and international property insurance markets, as well as his experience as a trader and underwriter in numerous jurisdictions, will be an enormous asset.

Richardson may be concentrating on supporting the development of the reinsurers Bermuda system while also enhancing the group's's global building abilities, according to QBE Re Bermuda mind Tracey Gibbons.

In addition to Bermuda, QBE Re already has locations in New York, Brussels, Dubai, Dublin, and London.
